We are really excited to announce Powered By the People, a partnership between Newbigin Community Trust, Ifa Yoruba Contemporary Arts Trust, and ourselves, Motherland Music. Our aim is empower the arts in Winson Green to create a legacy of the amazing local talent!

 

Our aim is to put on an interdisciplinary arts festival in 2026 at Newbigin Community Trust's Lodge Road base, with three smaller events over this coming year running up to the big day. We will be working with local schools and community groups to run music workshops, local artists and musicians creating a community band and choir, as well as working with local businesses to bring the whole community together at the festival.

 

We are really excited to share that we have received funding from Birmingham City Council Cultural Action Areas Programme funded by Enterprise Zone, which has enabled us to get the ball rolling. However we need to raise more funds to make this event as impactful as possible and keep this going year on year. That's where you come in.
